Volunteer

Volunteer Pilot Requirements:

  • Current pilot certificate and medical.

  • Minimum of 250 hours PIC time.

  • Access to aircraft as an owner or renter.

  • Current liability insurance.

  • Willingness to fly a minimum of one mission per calendar year. 

  • Experimental aircraft are welcome, but can only be used for non-passenger missions.

 

How to Get Started

To volunteer as an Angel Flight pilot, please complete our online application. If you have any questions about the application process, contact us at 972-755-0433 or coordinator@angelflightsc.org. Once your application is processed, you’ll receive an email from the office about how to access our online orientation. Then, you can start using your piloting skills to serve others!

Our volunteer pilots cover all the costs associated with an Angel Flight and, in return, are rewarded with one of the most satisfying experiences of a lifetime—unconditional giving to someone truly in need. Our pilots report that once you fly your first mission, you are hooked!

Founded in 1991, AFSC is based in Dallas and serves Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. With the help of amazing and generous volunteer pilots, we provide free flights for people in need of humanitarian assistance or medical treatment.
